Hello. Today, I’m thrilled to share the latest on the new anime series installment of the hugely popular light novel “Date A Live,” titled “Date A Live V.”
What is “Date A Live V”?
“Date A Live” is a light novel series written by Koushi Tachibana with illustrations by Tsunako. It’s a beloved series that has sold over 6 million copies worldwide, spawning four TV anime adaptations, a film, and even a theatrical spin-off titled “Date A Bullet.”
“Date A Live V” is the latest installment in the series, set to begin broadcasting in April 2024. The series will be directed by Jun Nakagawa, with animation production handled by GEEKTOYS.
The Story?
The story of “Date A Live” revolves around the battles and romances of Shido Itsuka, a young boy who can seal the powers of Spirits—beings in the form of human girls but of a different essence.
In “Date A Live V,” we dive into the intense battles against the antagonistic force DEM Industries, aiming for the Spirits’ powers, and Shido’s lost memories of the distant past, marking the beginning of the “greatest battle yet.”
Key Visual & First PV Released!
On February 15, 2024, the key visual and first promotional video (PV) for “Date A Live V” were released. The key visual features the Spirits in their spirited combat forms alongside Shido, who looks straight ahead. Behind them is a new character, Mio Tachibana, in her spirit form, a key figure in the latest series.
The first PV incorporates clips of Shido and the Spirits in action, DEM Industries’ assault, and hints at Mio Tachibana’s true identity. It also teases a part of the opening theme.
